Development Beyond GDP
DEH challenges the traditional economic focus on Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It argues that true development is about improving people's quality of life by ensuring their fundamental needs are met in sustainable and empowering ways. A country might have a high GDP but still fail to provide adequate housing, healthcare, or education for its citizens, indicating a failure in achieving true development.
